Friends are Good

Hi y'all~

Yes, I did just say Y'all. You forget that I was born and raised in Missouri and Kentucky... well, and Chicago, but I didn't think that saying “Yo, to all my home-dawgs in the hizzy!" would be very appropriate ;)

So I spent my evening talking to a new friend via AOL instant messenger. I have told a few of you (really all of the people who read this on an at least semi-regular basis) about this new friend of mine, so the story might be rather redundant, but I'm going to tell it anyway. Actually, there isn't much story to tell... It's just really fun to be able to talk to someone new. Like I have previously stated... Friends are good!

I worked today, again, with the lovely old ladies at Hallmark. It's kinda fun being the kid, but also not so much since they these old ladies are CRAZY!! Katie and I decided that God gave me this job so I would learn how I don't want to be after menopause :) They all think that I won’t know what I’m doing and that I need specific step-by-step instructions to learn stuff. Ladies, if any of you happen to be reading this online blog...which is highly unlikely, mind you... I have worked retail jobs since I was 16 years old and once cash register is not that different from the next. I've got it under control! :) I'm sure a good 30% of my frustration with the women there comes from my own arrogance. Thinking I can do everything on my own, that I don’t need help. And another 30% probably comes from the issues I have with my insecurities about my intelligence. Assuming they think I am dumb and won't know what's going on...etc. More than likely a good 10% comes from the lack of sleep I had last night and another 5% from the fact that the weather is cold and rainy and (did I mention?) cold. So... in closing, I'd say only about a fourth of my frustration comes from the old ladies themselves ;)

I know my latest blogs have sucked in comparison to previous ones, but I just don't have much to write about... at least not poetically ;) I'm sure I'll get on a eloquence kick again here sometime soon. Just not when I'm soo tired!!

For now... I'm going to finish watching this horrible stand-up comic on Letterman and head up to bed. Just so you know... this comic is one of those obnoxious ones that after he tells a joke he kinda does this jazz square box step while bobbing his head like Amelia during an intense choir discussion. He is making weird faces, like a retarded man trying to do an impression of Will Farrell. Although he is dressed to the nines in his Sunday best... his jokes could use some work!

G*night,
Tempa E. Haines
(that's my name on the professional circuit)
