God Bless America

Hi everyone,

So, I was taking a shower this afternoon (after Mitch Leery's death episode of Dawson's Creek and the Junior Prom episode of Saved By the Bell where Zack and Kelly dance out side the prom because her dad loses his job) and I heard a rendition of "God Bless America". While singing along to this traditional ballad and shampooing my hair, I realized that people don't often understand that song. Until this afternoon, I had always thought it was a song of well-wishes "God Bless, America".. like "Bless you, Tempa". But it's not. Not at all. That song is a prayer. "God, Bless America, land that I love. Stand beside her and guide her in the night with a light from above." That song means a lot more than the traditional American Pride anthem and it's yet another awesome illustration of the faith foundation that this country was built on (and, might I add, should remain standing on!)
