The spiral continues...

So yesterday, I was talking about the downward spiral of today's existence. I thought maybe the wonderful people of Ohio would prove my theory wrong, but after a brief encounter on the road this afternoon, I stand by my previously mentioned theory. Downward Spiral. Let me describe for you this encounter. I was on my way to pick up a long awaited book at the Strongsville Public Library when the car in front of me ran over a squirrel. This particular squirrel seemed to have a death wish, or was late for a class reunion or something because it just darted underneath the wheels of the Black Toyota Corrola in front of me. I swerved to miss the already demolished rodent and carried on my merry way. Later down that same road, I pull up to a stop light and glance at my surroundings. Like most do when stopped at a red light. The car next to me was a young mom and her two young daughters. I'm gonna age them at about 33, 7, and 5. The mom motions for me to roll down my window. Being the person that I am, I do. She then proceeds to ask if I'm "gonna help that poor defenseless squirrel that I maliciously ran over back there, or what?" To which I reply... "Oh, yeah I saw that. Sucks that the car in front of me ran it over." A simple reply to an unneeded confrontation in the middle of a busy street. A simple reply that was abruptly cut off with "Nice, real nice. It's a good thing you have at Jesus fish on your car. Maybe that squirrel went to heaven since you won't be needing your spot." Then, as I was intensely offended I rolled up my window only to be stared down by the unbuckled 7 year old in the back seat who was then switching her finger placement from the giant L loser symbol to the, more appropriate for a youngster, middle finger. Seriously. I can't make this stuff up! That HAPPENED! Today, I was flipped off by a 7 year old girl in the back of a '94 Cavalier. ONLY after I was viscously attacked by her (clearly well mannered) mother.

See... downward spiral. It took a while to process that event. I still don't know if I should laugh at it or be even more offended than I already am. I'll just pray for that family and hope that the part that was shown to me wasn't their finest moment.

Well... now that Jed's computer punked me over for the second night in a row, I'm gonna head upstairs. I hope you all had a better Saturday than I did :)

God's Peace,
Temp
