Well, another has come to a close in Beautiful Cleveland Ohio. (And by beautiful, I mean overcast and 50 degrees). I didn't really do much today. Woke up late, watched TV, made some spinach and tomato pizza for lunch (MmmMmmMmm), watched some more TV, cleaned my room a little, returned to the TV, and rounded out the night with a little more TV. Don't worry though, once this internship starts on Tuesday, Television will be a thing of the past! I did get to talk to two of my best friends, though. Katie and....well... Katie :) Home Katie and School Katie that is. Hmm... now that I don't go to school OR live where my "home" is... I may have to just start referring to them by their actual names. Naaah :)
It's hard being away from the people you care about the most. I gotta say, it's tough knowing that Email and telephone conversations are the best it's gonna be for a while. I can't imagine what people did before Cell phones and Electronic Mail. That Pony Express must have been all the rage!!
I have been doing a lot of searching for what the Bible says about women in the church. It has been a rather hot topic of conversation for a few weeks now, and it's something I would like to learn the Truth about. Last night, I decided to read 2 Timothy, a book that follows some scripture about women in the church. Although every book of the Bible is just as good as the last, 2 timothy didn't strike me as incredibly life applicable, ya know?? HOWEVER... I did like this verse. "Flee the evil desires of youth, and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace." (Im not sure of the exact chapter/verse numbers) That whole "Fleeing youth" thing is something I am working on. You'd think an intelligent 22 year old woman would know how to live like an adult, wouldn't you? :) I'm on the right track anyway :)
I started a book last night called "Blue Like Jazz". It was recommended by a friend and thus far... It's amazing!! Basically, it's non-Christian ideas on Christianity. It was written by this guy who never understood God growing up. He also hated Jazz music. To him, it had no structure, no resolution, no form. One day, he was walking the streets of New York and happened upon a man playing his saxophone on the street corner. He stood and watched this musician for 15 minutes. Astounded by the fact that the musician didn't open his eyes once in that span of time, he began to understand that Jazz music isn't about form and resolution, it's about feeling and emotion. Somehow, that realization made it far easier to understand the Lord. I'll give you updates about it, but as for now... I recommend it :)
Ok, It's 11:48 and I should get to bed. I'm going to church with my parents tomorrow. I want to be involved in their faith and their church, but it's not a contemporary service, so I don't know if I'm gonna like it every week. We'll see :) Ok.. I'm signing off (I kind of feel like Doogie Howser M.D. writing at the end of ever day... I only hope Vinnie doesn't come hopping through my window!)
G*night~
